BEAT IT . . . BEAT IT . . . BOOT CAMPS!
In LOVING MEMORY of my Father (Oscar Alvarez), my her, my best friend who lost his battle brain cancer March 24th, 2008.
Cancer is hard; exercise does not have to be! It's a proven fact that exercise can help increase mental and physical strength, boost your immune system and increase your overall well being!
Recent studies indicate: Exercise has the ability to advance the quality of life of cancer patients and reduce symptoms during and following treatment. Cancer patients who exercise benefit from reduced pain and nausea, improved cardiovascular endurance and muscle strength, reduced fatigue and improved ability to work outside the home and perform day-to-day duties. The are also less likely to suffer from depression or anxiety and they find benefits from the social interaction in exercise.
Together we squat, kick, crunch, jump, lunch and YES burpee some of our pain away! Then when our bodies can no longer move, we will stretch, hug, laugh or cry in hopes of distracting us from our troubles in that moment!
I also offer information on healthy foods and life choices while facing the reality of cancer. My goal is to motivate everyone on the importance of exercise and to teach a new definition for pain. *HAPPY PAIN*.
